English for IT Certifications

The English for IT exams assess what truly matters:

Can learners use English effectively in real IT contexts?

Available at A2, B1, and B2 levels, the exams assess different skills at each level:

• Using English grammar and IT-related vocabulary (A2, B1 and B2)
• Reading technical information (A2, B1 and B2)
• Listening to workplace communication (A2, B1 and B2)
• Writing short responses using IT-related language (A2 and B1)
• Describing tasks and processes in written and recorded spoken responses (A2 and B1)
• Producing recorded spoken responses in IT-related scenarios (A2 and B1)

A2 and B1 candidates choose answers in the language-use, reading and listening sections, type their own written responses and record spoken responses. B2 assesses Use of English, Listening and Reading through selected-response questions.

Review the syllabus and exam specifications for your chosen level before purchasing a voucher. Completing a course and passing a certification exam are separate achievements.

English for IT A2 Pre-Intermediate

• Validates pre-intermediate English skills in IT contexts (CEFR A2 / GSE 22–42)

English for IT B1 Intermediate

• Tests reading, listening, speaking, and writing with IT-specific grammar and vocabulary
• Covers software development, project management, data analysis, DevOps, AI prompting, and technical support
• Prepares learners to advance to higher-level English for IT certifications.

English for IT B2 Upper-Intermediate

• Validates upper-intermediate English skills in IT contexts (CEFR B2 / GSE 59–75)
• Tests reading, listening, and IT-specific grammar and vocabulary
• Ideal for IT professionals, software developers, network and security engineers, product managers, and support staff
• Helps non-IT employees communicate confidently in IT environments
